Birmingham, AL – Smith Sinrod is a designing woman on a mission. The New York City based designer and University of Alabama graduate is building a brand she launched only five years ago. Inspired by her great grandmother and drawn to bold outfits and bright colors, Smith designs dresses with a bit of whimsey and vintage glamour. The Linly Heflin Unit is thrilled to announce she will bring her latest bySmith Collection to Birmingham and headline the 57th Annual Linly Heflin Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show. The event will take place at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel Ballroom on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Well-known local clothier Gus Mayer is excited about Smith’s return to Alabama and her future as well. The Gus Mayer team is gearing up to produce a new and exciting fashion show around her southern flair. bySmith is carried at Gus Mayer and other upscale boutiques throughout the United States. Smith joined the Made in America Movement in 2013 with the line manufactured in New York City’s Garment District.  The long-running Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show continues to be Linly Heflin’s primary fundraiser for its scholarship program, which benefits women seeking higher education in Alabama. The October event will start at noon. Tickets are $50 and available by calling the Linly Heflin office at 205-871-8171.
