Linly Heflin Members Preview Red Carpet Designs at Gus Mayer Trunk Show

Fans of celebrity designer Gustavo Cadile were treated to a special fitting at Gus Mayer in June by the New York based Argentinian designer in Birmingham for a two day trunk show. Gustavo Cadile will present his Spring 2011 Collection at the 52nd Annual Linly Heflin Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel Ballroom on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Why do celebrities Eva Longoria Parker and Catherine Zeta-Jones love to wear his designs? Because they are beautiful, effortless and red carpet ready. Whether the event is a premiere, awards show, press conference, wedding, fundraiser or for a lady who lunches, Cadile has a range of elegant gowns and dresses to cover the occasion.

Linly Heflin members welcomed the designer on June 22 and 23 at the Brookwood Mall store and thanked him in advance for showcasing his latest line along with others from Gus Mayer at the upcoming Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show. The September event which will be held on Wednesday this year instead of Thursday will start at noon. Tickets are $45.00. Fashion Show producer Audrey Lindquist is planning a new and exciting show sure to please a full house. Gustavo Cadile is introduced through well known clothier Gus Mayer, a longtime sponsor and partner of the Linly Heflin Unit.

The long running Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show continues to be the primary fundraiser for its scholarship program which benefits women seeking higher education in Alabama. The Linly Heflin Unit’s motto, “Educate a woman and you educate a family” is at the core of the service organization founded in 1919. In recent years over three thousand four year scholarships totaling more than two million dollars have been awarded to deserving women attending state colleges and universities.

The Linly Heflin Unit is a committed group of 125 volunteers headed by President Bette Owen. Co-chairmen of the 52nd Annual Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show are Murray Priester and Happy Anthony. Other key members involved in the event are listed below:
